Ugh.

Ms. Magazine has a cover story in their latest edition with the caption: "We Had Abortions."

Nice.

However, this gives us an oportunity to discuss why the church opposes abortion.

Why does it oppose abortion? That’s simple – abortion is simply the killing of an innocent child.

Society always uses phrases that state that every life is precious to God, especially when it comes to the death penalty debate and the opposition of some in society to the death penalty. So, if every life is precious to God, why wouldn’t we want to protect the most innocent and precious life – that of the unborn?

The Missouri Synod’s position is that abortion is always wrong unless it is done to save the life of the mother. Otherwise, the church opposes abortion.
