Terrorism

Christians are being killed in Iraq for being Christian.

Radical Muslims are moving to eradicate the tiny Christian population. I guess the cross scares the heck out of the armies of hate. Keep the Iraqi Christians in your prayers.

This morning, evil showed its ugly head once again as a homicide bomber murdered former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. The killer fired shots at Bhutto and then blew himself up, killing upwards of 20 people and injured scores of bystanders.

I’m tired of people trying to equate these terrorist murderers with those who are fighting oppression.

Instead, this band of evil soldiers are fighting to oppress those who disagree with them.

And that is evil.

We Christians should have the courage to call these people who they are: evil killers who slaughter the innocent.

Michelle Malkin asks a very interesting question: Does anyone care yet?

Twenty-three Korean Christians were kidnapped by the Islamofascist Taliban in Afghanistan and are being held hostage. They’ve already killed two of them.

The mainstream media has been relatively silent on this horrific issue. Thankfully, the New York Times has at least started reporting about the kidnapping.

We should pray for the release of these missionaries, whose only goal is to tell the Gospel of Jesus Christ and help the needy. And we should remember the martyrs who have given their lives for Christ.

I was doing just that yesterday morning – thanking God for smart and courageous FBI, police, and US Attorneys. As the entire world knows today, six radicalized Islamic nincompoops who were heck bent on slaughtering innocent people were arrested and charged yesterday with plotting to use Fort Dix as their “last stand.” U.S. Attorney Chris Christie made the announcement yesterday afternoon.

But it was in the morning when I turned on WNBC to watch the morning news that I found myself thanking God. To have people intent on slaughtering and maiming innocent people all in the name of a “god” is sick and perverse. The murderous plots of six evil people never came to fruition. But we didn’t know why.

Now we do: A clerk at a Circuit City in Moorestown, NJ tipped off law enforcement officials about the band of terrorist wanna-bees. Even though I live in Bergen County in the far northeast of NJ, I’ve shopped at the store in Moorsetown, down near Cherry Hill. Last year, after my PALS meeting in Vineland, I found myself continuing to have problems with my satellite radio. Before leaving for Vineland, I scanned the Circuit City website for locations along the Turnpike and Moorsetown popped up. So, on that Saturday when I was returning to Bergen County, my radio went goofy and I pulled off the Turnpike and after getting lost, I found the store and picked up a new radio (thank goodness for warranties!).

If terrorism doesn’t prove that Satan rules this sinful world, then nothing will. In this morning’s New York Times, they report about the newest terrorist organization called Fatah al Islam, organized and run by a fugitive terrorist, Shakir al-Abssi.

Per The Times:

He has solid terrorist credentials. A former associate of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the leader of Al Qaeda of Mesopotamia who was killed last summer, Mr. Abssi was sentenced to death in absentia along with Mr. Zarqawi in the 2002 assassination of an American diplomat in Jordan, Laurence Foley. Just four months after arriving here (note: Lebanon) from Syria, Mr. Abssi has a militia that intelligence officials estimate at 150 men and an arsenal of explosives, rockets and even an antiaircraft gun.

Abssi is nothing but evil. Today he is using his “credentials” as a terrorist thug to recruit new members. He is influencing many young people to join his jihad to murder Americans. Apparently, he has been recruiting new thugs and murderers, creating a wonderful environment to discuss his plots to slaughter innocent people in the name of their god.

One paragraph stuck out to me about these recuitment practices:

Mr. Abssi has recently taken on a communications adviser, Abu al-Hassan, 24, a journalism student who dropped out of college to join Fatah al Islam. His current project: a newsmagazine aimed at attracting recruits.

A newsmagazine for terrorists? This is just plain evil. The devil has definitely been working overtime.

But notice one thing – these terrorist leaders seem fit to strap bombs to others and watch them kill themselves in the name of jihad. Would any of these leaders strap a bomb to their chests themselves? Of course not.

Thugs. Murderers. Evil.
